Here's my issue today:
The "news" is schizophrenic. One day they love a candidate, another day they wonder if they've got a major problem.
The issue I have with that is why are they telling me who they like anyway?
I don't want to know who Chris Matthews drools over or his opinion of Rev Wright's finally speaking (didn't he previously ask where he'd been?). I don't want Chris Matthews telling me that Barack Obama needs to drink coffee instead of juice. I want Chris Matthews to swallow the spit that collects in his mouth all the damned time and shut up.
Of course Chris Matthews is not news. He's an editorialist.
Do we have news anymore? Do we have any one who simply offers up the information and keeps their damned opinions to themselves?
Ok, damn, I'm guilty.
Americans continue to wonder why the contrived controversies such as "Bitter-gate" (idiotic) and "Rev. Wright" won't go away. The problem is the news reports on them ad nauseum. Who gives a damn anymore?
Can we move on to talk about the issues? The problem is now that when the candidates do talk about the issues, the news doesn't want to lose ratings so they bring up the same 3 lame topics to boost their viewership.
It is silly, sad and makes me ashamed of what the profession of journalism has become.
A few things we know for sure, all politicians lie (some more than others) because because if we knew or remembered everything about them we'd probably vote for Bart Simpson at this point.
I am also sick to death of seeing the goofy faces of the same ten pundits passed between CNN and MSNBC. Perhaps I should read the news or turn the station.
The problem with reading the news is that the big heads talking on the tube are writing the damned articles. Therein lies another huge issue because we're getting the same bogus opinions instead of the news.
What is so difficult about writing an article that actually helps people make informed decisions? Write an article that explores the policies of the candidates side by side. That would be useful.
Perhaps it would quell the discussion that politicians only talk and have no plans.
It seems to me that the media persists off the ignorance of the American public. Americans need to question the media, question who the reporting is being done by and do the work to find out some semblance of the truth.
Enough.
Can we write these people and demand in a big way for them to stop yapping and give us the info.
Show me the INFO!
It's a rant...no new stones turned over here....just seriously put off by the ass sucking of the TV talking heads.
Even Hillary Clinton doesn't pander as much as the media.
