I'm not kidding. Mitt Romney and Batshit crazy Michelle Bachmann are blasting President Barack Obama for a comment made by French President Nicolas Sarkozy against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
For those who don't know, yesterdayReuters reported that private conversation between Presidents Obama and Sarkozy was caught on mic by reporters at last week G20 in Cannes, France.
In fact, initially, President Obama criticized Sarkozy for France's surprise decision to vote in favor of a Palestinian request for membership of UNESCO without informing the U.S. Obama reportedly said : "I didn't appreciate your way of presenting things over the Palestinian membership of UNESCO. It weakened us. You should have consulted us, but that is now behind us"
Then at Sarkozy's initiative, the conversation shifted to Israeli PM Netanyahu. And Sarkozy started to vent unaware that journalists were overhearing their conversation.
"I cannot bear Netanyahu, he's a liar", Sarkozy said to Obama. To which Obama replied, "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you".
Yesterday as the White House refused to comment on the controversy, our "beloved" John McCain, via Politico, came out blasting the President for not defending Bibi against the mean "hating-jew" half-jew Nicolas Sarkozy.
“I happen to be a great admirer of Prime Minister Netanyahu,” McCain said on Fox and Friends. “I’ve known him for years, and Israel is under more pressure and probably in more danger than they’ve been since the ’67 war and that kind of comment is not only not helpful, but indicative of some of the policies towards Israel that this administration has been part of.”
Same fore Reince Priebus, RNC Chairman, who came with a weird attack:
, “After hearing President Obama’s insensitive comments about Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu last week, Americans are wondering: When will Obama start treating Israel like a strategic ally instead of a personal nuisance?… It’s shocking that the President of the United States would speak of the leader of America’s most important Middle Eastern ally in such a reckless way.”
Yeah How dare Obama not defending Poor Bibi against Mean Sarko.
I didn't know that now liking Benjamin Netanyahu would make you a Israeli and Jew hater. So I guess since only less than 25% of Israelis voted for the guy, it's safe to say that the remain 75% are anti-Israel ?
So Today, the morons from the Faux Outrage squad are still out and offended by President Obama and Sarkozy's exchange. But they aren't going after Sarkozy, they are blasting Obama for what Sarkozy said.
According toThe Hill, Mitt "FlipFlopper" Romney came out with a statement attacking President Obama and basically calling him a Jew Hater :
“President Obama’s derisive remarks about Israel’s Prime Minister confirm what any observer would have gleaned from his public statements and actions toward our longstanding ally, Israel,” Romney said in a statement. “At a moment when the Jewish state is isolated and under threat, we cannot have an American president who is disdainful of our special relationship with Israel. We have here yet another reason why we need new leadership in the White House.”
But the funniest statement came from BatShit Crazy Michelle Bachman who is calling on President Obama to apologize :
"I call on President Obama to immediately apologize to Prime Minister Netanyahu and I also believe that the president should demonstrate leadership and demand that the French President Sarkozy do the same,"
Never mind to these morons that Israeli Vice-Prime Minister Silvan Shalom, who is an internal rival of Netanyahu, played down the incident:
"Everyone talks about everyone. Sometimes even good friends say things about each other, certainly in such competitive professions," Shalom, a former foreign minister and rival of Netanyahu in the rightist Likud party, told Israel's Army Radio.
"So you have to consider the main things. Is Obama a friend of Israel? Is Sarkozy a friend of Israel? Is their policy a consistent policy of support for Israel? The answer to all of these questions is affirmative and, as far as I'm concerned, that is what's important."
Or nevermind the fact, that in the same conversation, President Obama asked Sarkozy to not back any Palestinian Statehood at the UN, Right Wingers can't just help themselves by not calling Obama a Jew-hater.
And the 3 stooges from Fox & Friends were quick to ask their audience if the mic-incident could "cost Obama the Jewish vote". Straight face.
