Did Rick Perry physically attack Ron Paul during last night debate? Well if you ask Ron Paul Supporters they will say "Hell Yes". During last night GOP debate, an incident happened when Rick Perry, during a commercial break, went to confront Ron Paul.
As you know for the last few days, Ron Paul went on the offense against Rick Perry running an attack ad against him bringing up his past as Democrat and as a big Al Gore supporter.
And during the debate, Ron Paul was the first and only one on stage to bring up Rick Perry's "fancy letter" to then First Lady Hillary Clinton begging for attention when she was working on her health care reform plan back in the 90s.
Well apparently, Rick Perry didn't like Ron Paul's attacks on him and decided to have a little talk with Ron Paul during the break. But if you read RonPaul.com it seems like for his supporters, Rick Perry physically "assaulted" their favorite:
During a commercial break at Wednesday’s Republican debate, Rick Perry and Ron Paul continued their spirited exchange on stage. Suddenly, Perry grabbed Ron Paul’s forearm while aggressively pointing his index finger towards the Congressman’s face. Alerted by Perry’s menacing gestures, Ron Paul’s bodyguard (front left) was standing by, ready to protect the Congressman.
Geez ! Ron Paul's bodyguard had to jump on stage to protect powerless Ron Paul against mean Rick Perry. I'm about to laugh.
Gawker has an all article on this particular incident those who went to take a look:
Paul, who has been running a slightly misleading ad this week embracing Ronald Reagan's legacy while calling Rick Perry "Al Gore's Texas cheerleader," uncharacteristically went after Perry early last night, beefing up his typical debate routine of flailing arms and yelling at the rafters about Austrian business cycle theory. Reuters then photographed a moment during the commercial break in which Rick Perry walked over to Paul, pointed in his face, and put his hand on his arm. What was he saying to Paul? Most likely he was asking, "Where do the high school girls hang out around here?" But whatever it was, the photo, and others, are featured prominently on the Drudge Report.
There's only one thing for the third-party observer to do in this situation: Visit various Ron Paul cult fan pages to watch them react! Was Rick Perry trying to murder Ron Paul with his death grip, as part of the establishment's broader campaign to keep people from hearing The Truth?
Judge with your own eyes : assault or not?
2:39 PM PT: Here some of comments posted on Ron Paul's website. Hilarious :
This is typical…the mindset of those weak in thought and message are usually the one’s resorting to physical force. If we disagreed, I cannot ever remember even touching an “intellectual” competitor. If there is any display of difference that people should note when it comes to the behavior and methods of our “leaders,” I fear for my son should Parry ever become president and have a disagreement with another country…tell me that is the face of a president…looks more like a hit man for the mob…especially the one with Huntsman in between them.
Slick Rick Perry. Steven Kings “Dead Zone” Canidate. He is showing his true colors, physically intimidating an old man that speakes his mind.
Perry’s assault does not surprise me. He is a low grade piece of work. He can’t wait to get in office and start a war if he thinks it will help our economy. He is as phony as a one dollar bill. Dr. Paul is a real gentleman. He let’s his message speak for itself. I hope he gets to be the leader of the free world. People always say they want change but immediately run when a candidate comes along that will really make changes. That is how this country got the build up of debt we are in. Get used to 20 to 25% unemployment especially if Perry wins. You can get used to soup lines also.
3:30 PM PT: Thanks to AnnetteK, here more pictures with Jon Hunstman trying to calm Rick Perry down or save Ron Paul...lol
